  • WHO:  Dallas Judo & Jiu Jitsu is a non-profit organization that is devoted to the training of athletes for the art and sport of Judo.
  • WHAT:  Judo is an Olympic sport and the second most widely practiced sport in the world (soccer is number one). Judo originated in 1882 by adapting the most effective ju-jitsu techniques for competition and self defense purposes.
  • WHEN:  There are workouts and classes most days of the week.

TELOS is located on the southbound service road of the Dallas North Tollway between Spring Valley Rd. and LBJ Freeway. Surface and underground parking is abundant and free. Membership at the TELOS Fitness Center is NOT required for participation in Dallas Judo classes
  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Dallas Judo & Jiu Jitsu, Inc. is incorporated under Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are deductible for income tax purposes in the United States.
  • When you join Dallas Judo, you will also be required to join United States Judo, Inc. the national governing body for Judo in the USA. The annual cost is fifty dollars. You will also be required to complete the Risk Agreement document and purchase a Judo gi if you don't already have one. Gi's can be purchased from us directly - $50, cash or check.

STAFF

  • Ken Scialo - Ken is one of the founders of the "new" Dallas Judo. He has coached several junior competitors to National Championships. He makes his living in the transportation industry.
  • Miguel Plana - Miguel is one of the founders of the "new" Dallas Judo. He has been instrumental in building our junior program into the powerhouse it is today. Miguel is an electrical engineer for a prominent micro-chip manufacturer.
  • David Yoshida - David has been involved in the sport of Judo for over twenty years and has been actively competing at the national level since 1989. His competitive achievements include national place winnings at the Junior, High School, Collegiate, and Senior level. He has coached numerous juniors in Texas at the national and international level. David works for a finance company in Allen.

MEMBERSHIP

  Membership at the TELOS Fitness Center is NOT required for participation in Dallas Judo classes.  
  Monthly Fees:
  • Seniors[not a member of TELOS]: $65 (17 and older)
  • Seniors[member of TELOS]: $50 (17 and older)
  • Juniors: $50
  • 3 or more juniors: $125
 
  Discounts:
  • 3 month pre-pay 5%
  • 6 month pre-pay 10%
  • 9 month pre-pay 15%
  • 12 month pre-pay 20%
